That only means temporary change=body harm.Im a 31 y/o. No kids. Married. With a 7:30-5:00 job. A 40 min commute. And a fitbit watch to try to achieve at least 8,000 steps a day. In other words, Im kinda normal.I always was underweight. My ideal weight used to be 106-110. Im only 5ft. When I turned 26 my weight started to change due to bad eating habits. I went to 125, then 135 and finally 145. I started watching what I was eating about two years ago, but loosing that extra weight hasn't been easy.As per my primary doc, my ideal weight for my height and age should be 115-125. I dont know how to achieve that!I do not consume sugars/sweets because I simply dont like them. My weakness is beer and buffalo wings. I dont eat salty either, it became a habit after my dad got a heart surgery about ten years ago.My breakfast is usually tea with crackers, for lunch I like soup, and dinner varies. But I think dinner is what kills me. For the most part I cook a typical Hispanic meal: rice, beans, and some sort of meat. But when I don't cook, hubby and I just order food (pizza or Chinese).For about two years now, my weight hit the 130-135 mark. I have not been able to weight less than that.I decided to give this book a try not to achieve my ideal weight, I gave up on that a while ago. But to cleanse my system which I think is something I truly need.In just four days I already feel the difference: Im sleeping so much better. I have so much energy and somehow, Im always happy (Im like that famous grumpy cat, so a happy face is abnormal in my case haha).Giving up meats is not a challenge (I was vegetarian for about three years, until I developed rashes and a weak inmune system). Im not that much into dairy. Fruits are the love of my life. I love bread, but I can survive without it; same with pasta. But the beer??? Oh my! I love my beer at night. Yet, I have not missed it. Im fine without it ;)Weird craving Ive been having is salt. However, I love pickled veggies, so I guess thats where the craving comes from.What makes this program easy is that you are not deprived from eating at all. If you feel hungry you get to eat any veggies or fruits of your choice. You also get to eat hard boiled eggs, which I never ate those many before in my life hahaha. They are filling and very nutricious. The book does not mention a limit on eggs. I did some research and an average of 4-6 a day is completely healthy. I'm having three a day. I also snack on fruits and veggies that are not part of the smoothy of the day, that way I do not loose motivation.I am not doing the salt-water flush. Not my thing.! I will let my body do everything on its own. Im not adding sweetners either, but thats just because as I said before, I dont like sweets. Im drinking plenty of water which I always have, and a bought a variety of detox teas to switch flavors.Lastly, pretty much all my ingredients are organic. Ive been buying organic for years now. And I am not adding any protein to my smoothies. I rather to get that protein from organic eggs.I will update this post with more results. My experience is a good one. I completely suggest you try this program. The only side effect I experienced was a little rash by my lip. It went away in half hour and it happened on my first day. Another thing Im experiencing is something like hot-flashes hahaha... I just wake up sweating and with my body tempeture up. But I dont feel like is something bad. Maybe the sweat is the way my system is cleansing.By the way, I decided to take pics everyday. I want to see the difference my self. No filters used, filters dont cheat others but yourself! And, I decided to use the same outfit when taking the pictures so that the results are hopefully, more visible.Good luck trying the program!2/4/16UpdateHello everyone!I am sorry for not updating this post earlier. Believe it or not, I couldnt figure out how to do it + Im a busy girl.So, I uploaded all other pics.Since a succesful end to my cleanse, I have continued with the modified version (2 smoothies and a HEALTHY meal).My total loss was 10 pounds and I continue to be at 125. 125 is perfect in my case given my height and age. However, I am thinking about doing the cleanse again soon; not to lose weight, but to get rid of xmas/new yrs/vacation toxins :)I have to admit that my eating habits completely changed. I continue to crave fruits and veggies on a daily basis. To me that is the most interesting part of all. I continue to indulge on buffalo wings and beer over the weekends and my results continue to be the same. By The way, on the weekends I rarely drink smoothies; I eat 2-3 meals and feel just fine. However, and once again, my meals are healthy. I kinda became a pesquetarian, all I eat is fish and lots of veggies.On another note, I gave a try to three different things mentioned in the book: sea-salt water flush (I add a lime to it to make it easier to drink) and oh my if I recommend it, it makes me feel digestively clean :). I also bought Mag07 and wow! JJ Smith is right about those pills, is a great way to stay regular and help your digestive system stay healthy. Finally, I did the liver cleanse (8oz water and 2tbs apple cider vinegar) and my waist has gotten thinner.I continue to go to the book all the time. I get recipes from there, and I just go back to her various tips.Since, I bought another book with hundreds of green smoothie recipes. I like JJ Smith's recipes better because are less sweeter, but nonetheless, the other book helps me keep up with my routine too.I developed a method: Once a month I get a shopping list ready. I separate all recipes on ziploc bags and freeze them. The night before I take them out and done! I waste no time making my daily dose of health.I also bought a Ninja blender. Mine was a small one and I had to make a smoothie at a time (no time for that in the am). Im totally in love with my new blender because I make 2-3 cups of the same smoothie at once.Feel free to ask me questions.I continue to recommend the book. Im also very active in JJ Smith's twitter account because the program worked like a charm in my case. I love my new eating habits and how I feel in general, and thats all thanks to JJ Smith.Last note: people constantly compliment me on my skin and hair, people do notice my weight loss, and people continue to talk about how cheerful I am most of the time which I find hillarious given how grumpy I am ha!Best of luck to those considering the cleanse.

Good for Beginners There's little in here that an experienced prepper wouldn't already know, but I still gleaned enough to feel comfortable recommending this book. Like the title says, clean water is the most important prep to have in most disasters and every step you take towards water preparedness will benefit you no matter how small.The most important thing to know before you buy this book is to realize that it is largely geared toward surviving short and medium-term situations where clean water is unavailable. Think hurricanes, local and regional water table contamination, and electric well pumps failing during a power outage. Someone looking for detailed instructions on how to get clean water during a long term grid down situation will likely be disappointed. The people who will get the most out of it are ones who know water is a weak spot in their preparedness plans but don't know what options are out there beyond bottled water and purification tablets. Still, water is such a vital prep that this is a book worth having on your shelf even if it's only to lend out to others.Smart idea, but terrible book on the subject. It is a 200 page book. I got to page 73 and it was all stories about events where water became scarce and how society broke down. That is more than 1/3 of the book on useless nonsense I can do nothing about, like water-borne diseases. Then the book goes on to advise that's common-sense, like fill the tub and every container you got.The other 2/3 of the book reads like housewife advice--like how to wash your hands 101 and how to shop smart. My favorite is how to upgrade your shower head. If you are a prepper this book is not for you. Spend your money elsewhere.I was amazed at the number of ways to get and store ... I was amazed at the number of ways to get and store water. I also did not realize how quickly one could become sick from lack of water. This book may be small in size, but it packs a tremendous amount of information. I did not know of all the ways to obtain water, and how much water a single person needs to survive. I live in an area of this country that get a lot of rainfall. But I did not realize how much water just runs off. This book will be invaluable in a crisis situation, it could save a persons life. I highly recommend this book. JRV

My favorite motivational book!!!! I love this book!!! I can tell it is one that I will read through multiple times. Shaun T is an incredibly inspirational person. I found him through his workouts but it became clear quickly that his focus was on building mental toughness and resiliency using the physical fitness as the means. And it works! In his book, he lays out his story in detail and uses it to share the skills and techniques he's developed to become the person he is today. He uses a series of exercises to get you thinking about your life/situation. It's not necessarily about telling his readers what to do and more about getting them to think about who they want to be and defining their own path to get there.I'd also strongly recommend listening to his podcasts (Trust and Believe is the current one and Define Your Life is also good to listen to!). He provides more motivation with the same straightforward and honest earnestness with which he wrote the book. And, of course, his workouts are amazing!! Shaun T is such a great motivator for both mental and physical fitness!Shaun T helped change my life with his workouts. ... Shaun T helped change my life with his workouts. This oversize volume, which marks the centennial of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, begins with an explanation of how the information is arranged, including a discussion of the measurements, icons, and abbreviations used throughout the text. The first chapter offers a brief introduction to Earth, and its geology and life-forms, followed by separate, extensive chapters devoted to minerals, rocks, and fossils; microscopic life; plants; fungi; and animals ("the largest kingdom"). Each chapter consists of sections representing major taxonomic classifications and within these sections lower taxonomic groups are discussed. Numerous pictorial galleries highlight varieties of specific species. Scattered throughout are feature profiles that offer in-depth analyses of single specimens (white water lily, cane toad, etc.). Pages dedicated to a specific life-form include a chart that indicates phylum, class, orders, families, and species. The information provided for each entry (both common names and Latin names are included) is generally brief and limited to two or three sentences. In the first, “Living Earth,” copiously illustrated introductory essays on topics such as climate change, evolution, and classification provide context. This is followed by chapters on “Minerals, Rocks, and Fossils”; “Microscopic Life”; “Plants”; “Fungi”; and “Animals,” offering picture galleries that profile about 5,000 specimens and living species ranging from topaz to oyster mushroom to sperm whale. Each chapter is divided into sections representing major groups (for example, “Invertebrates”) with an introduction highlighting the characteristics that define the group. Each subgroup (“Sponges,” “Insects”) also has its own introduction. For living species, “Classification” boxes display the current taxonomic hierarchy. Picture captions provide information such as size, habitat, and distribution. Topics of debate are interspersed in sidebars throughout the text; for example, “Did monocots have aquatic origins?” and “Are birds dinosaurs?” The remarkable color photographs and illustrations, commissioned for this work, depict the natural world in its amazing beauty and diversity. In “Feature Profiles,” close-up photographs provide detailed images of some of the world’s most interesting species, such as the fly agaric mushroom, the Mexican red-kneed tarantula, the Aldabra giant tortoise, and the six-banded armadillo. ... son saw this book at camp last summer and loved it. We knew we wanted to get it ... Our 12-year old son saw this book at camp last summer and loved it. We knew we wanted to get it for him for Christmas and were excited to see that Amazon had it. The first time we got it the cover was ripped and bent but they sent us another right away and packaged it better so there were no tears or wrinkles! He loves it! He enjoys flipping through randomly and also reading page by page. He shares out information he reads and says, "Isn't that crazy?" or "Look at this bird!" It's a great book to have as there is SO much to look at and talk about! A great resource for the nature lover, book lover, outdoor type, or knowledge hound! Great images and info!We have loved using this book with our other homeschool science materials We have loved using this book with our other homeschool science materials. My kids now prefer it to other supplemental books that we have. The organization is perfect, and the pages aren't cluttered with information like some books. It shows several examples of each species with just a little information. The pictures are excellent. I would highly recommend this book if you have elementary age children. It will hold their interest for hours!Outstanding book. The focus is on life - animals first, then plants. Minerals are well done, but a secondary concern. I bought this along with a couple of kids' books to put on my 5-year-old's bookshelf. The photographs are amazing. They carry the story. The text is good, but a picture is worth a thousand words, especially for a child.There is always something to learn. I, for instance, learned that flowering plants evolved well before the great extinction of the dinosaurs. There are fossils of oak trees that far back. More than that, probably because they reproduce by seeds, it appears that plants survived that event better than animals.This book gets a lot of attention from guests to my home in Ukraine. It is the kind of thing that Americans continue to do well. I am gratified to add that it is delightfully low-key on sensitive topics such as global warming. They simply want to display nature in all its glory, and do a great job.
