Professor Cheeseman taught business law, legal environment, and ethics courses in both the MBA and the undergraduate programs of the Marshall School of Business of USC. At the MBA level, he developed and taught courses on corporate governance, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcy law. At the undergraduate level, he taught courses on business law, the legal environment of business, ethics, business organizations, cyber law, and intellectual property. Professor Cheeseman received the Golden Apple Teaching Award on many occasions by being voted by the students as the best professor at the Marshall School of Business of USC. He was named a fellow of the Center for Excellence in Teaching at USC by the dean of the Marshall School of Business. The USC’s Torch and Tassel Chapter of the Mortar Board, a national senior honor society, tapped Professor Cheeseman for recognition of his leadership, commitment, and excellence in teaching. Professor Cheeseman writes leading business law and legal environment textbooks that are published by Pearson Education, Inc. These include Business Law, Contemporary Business Law, and The Legal Environment of Business.  Professor Cheeseman is an avid traveler and amateur photographer. Great! I am renting this from Amazon and I'm so glad I did. The book is a hard cover and is what I needed for by business law class. I have enjoyed the reading so farGood book that isn't overly dense with difficult wording, full with pertinent cases I really enjoy readnig from this book, which can't be said for all the books I read for class. This books presents information in an easy reading manner and is full of many pertinent court cases. I think the inclusion of so many cases is important as it illistrates concepts while at the same time keeps the readers attention since they are real world settings that are more easily digested.The only downside to this book, and thus one reason for only four stars, is its large size, which is probably common for most business law books. This book is very hefty! I like reading outdoors at a park or sitting on a bench and this book was mostly too large for me to do this. It would be beneficial to have this book either split to two books, or in an electronic version so that only the sections to be studied can easily be taken with the reader.Overall great book!A great book to get to know the legal system in the United States. I bought this as a loose leaf edition and I am very pleased with it. My professor prefers Mr. Cheeseman's books. She states that she can still recommend some of the older versions for classes as well. The book is well written and presented so that students can easily learn from it.

The only issue I have is it's double sided and I hate being concerned with my art transferring to the back page. I've used gel pens and have not had any transfer issues thus far, but I would not use any markers in this book. I attached11 pictures! Why aren't they posted like the same person who posted pictures of the whole book. I 2 mins from never ordering from amazon again.... Kerby's first book but after imagimorphia I fell in love. Beautiful intricate designs that adults and children can enjoy alike. The paper quality its good enough to hold watercolor pencils with a little of water.Printing errors bleh - Content YAY I love the book - the stars are not reflective of the quality of paper nor the images in the book - both of which are top notch. The lower star rating is simply due to printing errors and binding errors. The pages have a gap between the two page spreads that is very jarring whereas previous books did not have this. Also, on the turtle page, there is a huge grey streak running through the right side of the page.Again, I love Kerby Rosanes and all his book and his drawings, it is only the printing error that has me rating this lower than a 5 star.I do plan on purchasing another copy in the future in hopes that these errors won't be present and that the issues will be fixed. If that happens I'll update this review.

Plenty of International Intrigue and Personal Inspiration without the Hollywood Ending. Wishing to learn more about the legendary Rothschild family I identified Niall Ferguson's as the best possible source for objective knowledge. And I wasn't disappointed. A little dry at times, I soldiered on through the least interesting bits of what I consider minutia (e.g. 10,000 rentes sold at 87 on September 12, 1842, etc.) to get to the picture of who the Rothschilds were back then leading up to who they are today which I look forward to learning in Volume II. As others have noted, this is an excellent book for students of finance and/or history but as a student of the Rothschilds themselves I was less interested in the microscopic details and much more captivated by the rise of this humble family from dirt-poor origins to taking their place on the world stage. To be fair to Mr. Ferguson, the details and minutia are part of what made their meteoric rise possible and he can't be faulted for his incredible attention to detail. To his immense credit, the author maintained an academic and analytically-balanced posture from page one to the end. Small bits of humor - most steeped in irony - pepper the pages adding even more flavor. For anyone interested in the the three key topics covered in this book - finance in the 19th century, 19th century world history and the Rothschilds themselves - this book will reward the reader with a treasure trove of knowledge.You will learn a great deal about the early development of the modern banking ... Interested in economic history? You will learn a great deal about the early development of the modern banking system (1790-1850 approximately) from this book. Not to mention the development of government fiscal and monetary practice. That is all to be expected, and the book delivers. But I was surprised, and interested, to find so much information about the position of Jews throughout Europe during the period, especially in the early chapters. Of course I had some general knowledge of the legal restrictions they faced, but now I have a much clearer picture. In Frankfurt, the place of origin for the Rothschilds, Jews were subjected to severe legal handicaps. How in the world did so many become doctors, scholars and bankers? I'm familiar with the ideas about how Jews turned in these directions because they had no other economic outlets. But as individuals, they also had to bring integrity, hard work and sheer grit. Beside a simmering sense of outrage I came to admire these people a whole lot.

I look forward to seeing the upcoming film because, while I respect the scholarship and expertise behind the making of the book, I think it will be more engaging on the screen.A Worthy Read Overall, this is an engaging read. It provides a good and thorough look at some of the intricacies of Mary's life and how she ended as she did. At times, it is a bit harder to keep track of all the different nobles running about, and it would be interesting to see what sorts of counterpoint-depictions there are to William Cecil, as this author makes him to be quite the villain, but otherwise I would recommend this as a good and fair read of the unfortunate Mary, Queen of Scots.Excellent biography Reread this in preparation for a trip to Scotland where we'll visit many places connected with Mary. She's one of the most tragic monarchs whose bios I've read. Although she didn't become the Queen of England, her son succeeded Elizabeth I and all subsequent British monarchs descended from her.The book is very well researched and detailed. Having the ability to visualize the events that occurred in various castles and palaces will make my travels more meaningful. RIP Marie

Buy it! The first time my husband took the ASVAB (10 years ago) he didn’t qualify for special operations. After studying with this book, and taking the exam, he qualified for EVERY position. While the questions are obviously not the same, it got his gears moving and really helped him succeed. I am very pleased with the purchase of this book. Military, here we come!Study the sections that matter then study it all I am striving to become a coast guard rescue swimmer so there were sections I needed to score very high on. This book gave a great overview and practice for me to succeed on those sections. Once I completed my respective sections I went back and studied all the sections to ensure a well rounded score. I finalized my studying by brushing up on my sections once more and took the test. I did well.Fun Fact: I also took the LSAT using Kaplan and although the LSAT is a much different test Kaplan's online resources have proven very helpful if utilized.P.S. - If you are excited to do your job it makes studying so much easier. Just think of the awesome things you'll be doing. The book is a tool to fuel your excitement. GET AFTER IT!MUST HAVE for ASVAB Prep!!! Great resource for success. My daughter failed the test the first time and passed after using this book for a month! Definitely recommended for attaining the highest score possible, which affects which jobs you qualify for in the military!
